It's been a long time since I baselined my predictions and assumptions, therefore in this running post I will document my overall hypothesis towards the economy and markets.
...
I believe China is the new Japan. They've had their supernova real estate melt-up and now they are morphing into a dwarf star emitting continuous deflation. Unlike Japan however, the Chinese government is making serious and painful reforms to their economy instead of merely relying on fiscal and monetary stimulus ad infinitum.
...
re: MP
I doubt the Fed will ever increase rates in this cycle. They are now between a rock and a hard place. The lagged data is coming in hot, however consumer demand is likely on the verge of collapse. My deflationary hypothesis - as everyone knows - is that this post-pandemic consumption binge is end of cycle and it's obscuring economic weakness. The middle class is over-leveraged and recent wage gains are not keeping pace with prices. For the moment it's "stagflation" - stagnant economy with inflation. However, this is not an equilibrium state. It will soon morph into outright deflation amid asset collapse. The common belief that wages will spiral out of control is part of the Supply Side mythology that has held this country in a deathgrip since 1980.
...
re: FP
No surprise, I view this gridlock in Washington as being deflationary. The economy is now dependent upon continuous and ongoing combined fiscal and monetary "GDP". Without both, it will collapse back into deflation. The parties are at ideological loggerheads, however, during crisis they usually come to some short-term agreement. And that's what it will take. Crisis.

Roberts: Whither the global economy?

How is the global recovery after the COVID pandemic going? The economic consensus is that the major economies are recovering fast, driven by rising consumer spending and corporate investment. The problem ahead is not a return to sustained economic growth but the risk of higher or more long-lasting inflation in the prices of goods and services that could force central banks and other lenders to raise interest rates. And that might lead to bankruptcies among highly-indebted companies and then a new financial crash.

While that risk is clearly there over the next couple of years, will there really be a sustained recovery in economic growth over the next five years? Let’s remind ourselves of the official forecasts. The IMF reckons that by 2024 global GDP will still be 2.8% below where it thought world GDP would have been before the pandemic slump. And the relative loss of income is much higher in the so-called emerging economies – excluding China, the loss is close to 8% of GDP in Asia and 4-6% in the rest of the Global South. Indeed, the forecasts for annual average real GDP growth in virtually all the major economies are for lower growth in this decade compared to the decade of 2010s – which I called the Long Depression.

Eric Basmajian of EPB Research: Hyped-Inflation Versus The Coming Global Demographic Vortex

File that under careful what you wish for...
A one year post-pandemic increase in CPI has set off inflation mass hysteria. The only higher prices this moronic society doesn't fear is higher asset prices. Quite the opposite, they embrace asset inflation with maximum leverage. They are now using crypto Ponzi schemes with an established crash history, as a hedge against inflation. Because everyone knows it's better to risk an(other) 80% haircut than to face a 6% CPI at Walmart. You literally can't make this shit up...

...

These people are plowing their life savings into the most overbought and overvalued asset markets in human history and yet all you hear about is the price of eggs going up 50 cents.

No question, at the bottom of the wage scale, a combination of factors have made even relatively small price increases seem insurmountable. However, maybe it's time to consider the fact that working wages have been suppressed by mass outsourcing and mass immigration for forty years straight. As I showed in my last post, wages are going up the LEAST of all other types of prices. Which in aggregate is deflationary.

Fed “Taper” Is Good News For The Bond Market

Investors are fretting over the prospect of a “Fed Taper,” but history shows such will likely be good news for the bond market. Currently, it doesn’t seem that way, with rates rising post-announcement.

… over the last decade, a reversal in Fed policy has repeatedly provided bond-buying opportunities. In the past, rates rose during QE programs as money rotated out of the “safety of bonds” back into equities (risk-on.).

When those programs ended, rates fell as investors reversed their risk preferences.

Do higher public debt levels undermine growth?

It effectively says that employers have not adjusted to the fact that in an era when going to work means risking life and limb, aka Covid hazards, they need to be treated better, as in more pay, more respect, more perks like sick days.

...

The profound reluctance of companies and managers to accommodate reasonable demands of employees they’ve been able to squeeze harder and harder over decades isn’t about commercial logic or inability to pay more. Corporate profit share as a percentage of GDP has been at insanely high levels for over a decade. Most can pay more, which is the change that would demand least of managers. It’s that it offends their sensibilities.

*** Welsh: The Ongoing Depression Which Started in 2008

Back in 2009, I said that the bailout and inadequate stimulus would cause a depression which would last for at least a generation. I got a lot of the details wrong (inflation happened only in areas of interest to the rich, for example, till now) but that there would be a depression (ignored, by and large), oh yes.

You can have a good economy, or you can have a lot of billionaires. You can have a good economy, or you can have unregulated oligopolies. You can have a good economy, or you can have a government bought and owned by the rich. You can, as Brandeis pointed out, “have democracy in this country, or we can have great wealth concentrated in the hands of a few, but we can’t have both.”

Nothing in America can be fixed if the rich stay rich and powerful.

All of this means that the ruling elite needs to be replaced wholesale, both to live in a good economy, and to mitigate the worst parts of climate change (stopping it is no longer possible under any realistic scenario I can imagine.)

It’s that simple.

The American Ruling Class Has Never Let Us Build Back Better

The nation’s original failure to “build back better” was Reconstruction, the attempt to radically remake society in the wake of the Civil War. Then as now, the most powerful people in the country went out of their way to maintain the status quo.

With lights going out in Glasgow, realities, and they are indeed many and diverse, are back in the play. All around the world people are interpreting, talking about and deeply analysing what has really been agreed during those two weeks in Scotland.

How good or bad, how much progress, what does it mean for markets, what does it mean for the economy, what does it mean for the 7 billion souls temporarily visiting planet Earth. It all depends on your perspective or your relationship with what we all are witnessing.

Let’s talk about that for a moment. How abusive is this relationship really? In the most general sense, the term ‘abuse’ describes a particular type of relationship between two things. An abusive relationship is one where one thing mistreats or misuses another thing. The important words in this definition are ‘mistreat’ and ‘misuse’; they imply that there is a standard that describes how things should be treated and used, and that an abuser has violated that standard.

For the most part, only human beings are capable of being abusive, because only human beings are capable of understanding how things should be treated in the first place and then violating that standard anyway.

Animals in nature, and nature itself, may be very violent and destructive at times but in an unconscious, irresponsible sort of way. They cannot act otherwise. Natural violence is not intentional, but all too often, human violence is. Let this sink in. Why is to hard to talk about it?

The societies we live in normalize unhealthy behaviour so people may not understand that their relationship is abusive. When you think that unhealthy or abusive behaviours are normal, it’s hard to identify your relationship as abusive and therefore there’s no reason to seek help.

Now if we apply this to our current economic system and climate you sort of get a very clear picture about how abusive this is.

*** Albert Bates: Casting the Net

"One of the rallying cries issuing from the street protests at COP26 in Glasgow is No Net Zero, Just Zero."

It is a nice thought but not very practical. Not everything that fossil fuels do for humanity can be quickly replaced with sunlight. There will necessarily be a long, painful period of adjustment..

...

A few years ago I attended a reception in Toronto and found myself chatting one-on-one with the Vice President for Sustainability of one of the world’s largest oil companies. I asked her about her company’s climate policy. She said they planned to be carbon neutral. That conversation has lingered in my memory because I found it remarkable that removing millions of barrels of crude oil from deep underground could ever be thought to be carbon neutral. You would have to do such mental gymnastics to get there that somewhere off stage there would have to be wire supports manipulated by a team of gymnast puppeteers. As I looked for those hidden threads, what I saw was 9 parts greenwash and 1 part technological hubris. Taking hundred-million-year-old sunlight entrained and transformed when ancient forests or algae beds were subducted by geomorphic cataclysma, bringing that black goo to the surface at great expense, refining it into a clear liquid and then releasing it to the atmosphere to mingle and mix with the balanced photosynthetic budget of the planet, blowing out a delicate equilibrium that sustains the only known life in this corner of the galaxy, cannot possibly ever be carbon neutral. And yet, that is what the whole premise of Net Zero rests upon.

That is what the entire carbon trading regime that Article 6 of the Paris Agreement rests upon.

*** Kevin Roche: Time for Another Epidemic Summary

might be a good time for one of those periodic big picture summaries of what we know about the epidemic, about our responses to the epidemic, and what the future may hold. ... I know many of you may not agree with everything I say, but that’s okay. I just encourage you to form your thoughts from sound research and analysis.

Vaccines work by exposing the naive immune system to parts of the virus, mimicking a true infection and prompting development of that adaptive immune response. The mRNA vaccines actually work a lot like the virus, they get into a cell and get the protein machinery to make spike protein, which is pushed out of the cells and the immune system does its magic. Unfortunately, and I worried about this from the start, as far as I know these vaccines only use spike protein and therefore don’t do a good job of prompting a response to the whole virus. I think natural infection is proving to be more effective because it does prompt antibody and T cell response to membrane, nucleocapsid and even other parts of the virus. Traditional, attenuated virus vaccines are in development which should perform better.

Respiratory viruses have been around forever and we periodically have epidemics from them, influenza being the most common example. And we should know by now that our ability to stop or control those epidemics is very limited. But as the Greeks noted, humans have hubris. We over-estimate how wonderful we are and we don’t learn diddly-squat from our mistakes. If anyone had any doubt about our ability to defeat a respiratory virus, this epidemic should end that foolish notion. How many hundreds of billions of dollars have we spent trying to do that. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

The governmental response to the epidemic has, in my opinion, generally been atrocious, with particularly pathetic communication to the public.

… Our public health experts, most of whom are employed by the government or academic medical centers, have distinguished themselves with their unrelenting poor advice, usually backed with no data or research. And I say this seriously, while some of these people may be bright and productive, you end up in government for a reason and people in both government and academia are highly risk-averse and not very good at logical analysis or sound decision-making. And as Exhibit A, I give you the responses they have crafted and are still crafting to this epidemic. Two years in, no evidence that any of it works

Worst of all has been the terror campaign and the lies and misinformation. People have been frightened into having an excessive fear of the virus, missing health care, missing social interactions. CV-19 is completely non-threatening to almost everyone. We can’t get accurate information from governments or the media, instead we get data and “research” which is designed solely to support the desired messages. Anyone who trys to inject a little truth and sense gets pilloried, banned from social media or even fired. What kind of screwed-up world and free society is this we live in?

What would a better approach have been? It would have started with more respect for real data and science and more tailoring of mitigation measures to address the obvious bifurcation of serious disease. We should have focused on protection of the frail elderly, although realistically there was never a lot that could be done, and we forced absolute isolation on an already lonely group. We never should have closed schools or businesses. Mask mandates were and remain a delusion and a fetish. So yes, we should have accepted the inevitable and let people make their own decisions, with as good a data and advice as we could provide

*** Crawford: The Vaccine Wars

A Summary

When I first started writing The Chloroquine Wars series, my goal was to relate most of a year's worth of personal research and exploration into life saving medicines whose evidence of efficacy was being summary ignored and buried by both blunt (here, here, here, and here) and sophisticated (here, here, here, and here) propaganda techniques during the pandemonium. I wasn't paying close attention to the vaccines at the time, except that I had a suspicion that early treatment was being suppressed for profit. Personally, I was taking a wait-and-see approach regarding mRNA therapeutics in particular. In April, a former student and now MIT graduate working in Boston contacted me and asked if I had research on the vaccines and if I could summarize the risks in one of my articles. At the time I did have some barely organized research on the vaccines and figured that it would be helpful to her and a lot of other people if I laid out at least a subset of the risks as I understood them. That task turned into a two-parter (here and here).

However, the content of The Chloroquine Wars gradually veered more and more toward coverage of the COVID-19 "vaccines" as controversies emerged and multiplied. Perhaps I should have taken it as a sign when I published my first estimate of vaccine associated mortality. I had a hard time believing the results could be as bad as they were, and I lived in a bit of a stupor for days while looking for clever angles to check the results. Sensing a problem of growing urgency, most of my time has veered toward research and coverage of the COVID-19 mass "vaccination" campaign.

At this point, I would like to split the series, and begin organizing articles on vaccines separately. This summary will live here and be updated every few weeks. This will help simplify the Wars of Wars RTE summary. This series may grow to include research into other vaccines as well as I've grown substantially curious of the hidden history of the mad science.

I would like to express deep gratitude for everyone supporting Rounding the Earth while I have embarked on these missions. Remember that you can use links to these articles to more quickly educate your friends who are inundated with the cruel disinformation campaign thrust on all of us.

*** Tessa Lena: Honest People Series: Dr. Byram Bridle

This story is about honesty. Specifically, it is about an honest scientist, Dr. Byram Bridle.

Let’s face it, honesty is rare. One can take a look at the fables from thousands of years ago, when the immediate cost of having misguided ideas about reality was much higher than today due to the lack of a buffer—you cannot bullshit your way out of a tiger’s mouth—and even the old fables lament that people like to delude themselves to their own eventual detriment. And in today’s world, we live inside a wishful thinking pyramid. Therefore, our ultimate survival depends on the courage and honesty of those who dare to face the reality head on and lead the way. Reality always wins, and that’s regardless of how much effort has been invested into building a house of cards.

Without further ado, I would like to express my admiration for Dr. Byram Bridle.

Dr. Byram Bridle is a viral immunologist in Canada. His areas of interest are cancer treatments and vaccines. His dissident career started a few months ago when, in the capacity of a mainstream immunologist, he was interviewed by Alex Pierson on the radio—and in the interview, he suddenly expressed concerns about the new data regarding the biodistribution of the COVD vaccines, and the potential for the vaccine-induced spikes to cause blood-clots in the heart and in the brain. In that interview, he sounded rather shocked and was almost apologetic about the new findings. He did, however, express explicit concerns and said that it called for an investigation.

Since then, he has been blocked off the mainstream media, accused of spreading misinformation, etc. etc. (despite the fact that the findings he quoted have since been confirmed—to the sound of the crickets in the mainstream media). Luckily, he was able to keep his job so far. And fiercely, he is pushing forward for rigorous science and keeping the public informed. According to Dr. Bridle, he considers himself a public servant and he feels responsible for bringing forward honest knowledge, regardless of whether it’s convenient.

I have greatest respect for Dr. Bridle. I feel camaraderie. He is alive and curious, not a zombie. Non-zombies always end up saving the day, and I just pray that the brave ones will be able to do it again. I have no doubt that when this egregious bullying and censorship pass, even the ones who have been gaslit today into a religious faith in the mainstream narrative just because, will wake up and realize that they have been duped. And that the world will heal by the power of truth. I pray for the truth.

I was myself raised in the tradition of intellectual rigor, which was a side effect of the collapse of the Soviet Union. During my formative years, everybody was so fed up with Soviet establishment bullshit that intellectual honesty was held in high regard, and everyone in my circles craved knowledge for the sake of knowledge. I have carried that love of knoweldge for the sake of knoweldge throughout my life, and I feel elated when I run into other curious souls.

Anyway, please watch Dr. Bridle’s interview. The gist: ….

The year public health lost its soul: a critical view of the COVID-19 response

The COVID pandemic was an acute test of public health capacities worldwide. Many will hail the successes obtained and stress the importance of the discipline. On the contrary, this commentary defends the idea that the COVID pandemic response forced public health to enter in a Faustian bargain with governments and realpolitik that threatens the very core of the discipline’s principles.

Fenton:
Is vaccine efficacy a statistical illusion?

“Turns out that, simply by delayed reporting of deaths by 1 week, it’s inevitable a placebo will appear to reduce mortality in those who receive it compared to those who don’t..”

eugyppius: Vaccine Efficacy Statistics as Information Hazard

Poorly targeted vaccination gives rise to statistics that overstate vaccine efficacy, driving the vaccinators to engage in more poorly targeted vaccination.

… One or two hundred thousand vaccinations in these groups can make a serious difference, for we have seen that the vaccines do reduce the risk of severe outcome. The effect fades… That’s far less than the vaccinators pretend, but even lacklustre reductions in risk can matter enormously, where that risk is substantial.

… None of this will do anything to bring deaths down, but as they vaccinate more healthy low-risk people, their efficacy statistics will only improve, which will in turn drive their mania and religious certainty to new heights.

eugyppius: We Should Think Less About Viruses

I suspect that I buried the lede in my last piece, so I want to address some of the push-back.

First of all, on the vaccines and whether they work or not: The basic picture that emerges from all of the research to date, and that experience with coronavirus vaccines in animals more or less confirms, is this: The vaccines provide partial protection against infection for a few months. Surprisingly, this protection eventually fades into negative territory. Thereafter, they are still effective against severe outcomes, but here too their protection wanes, and it wanes fastest of all in the most vulnerable groups. We can only hope that here, at least, the decay stops at zero. Against all of that must be weighed an array of negative effects, the most obvious being that they increase transmission and that they injure and even kill a nontrivial number of people. While it seems the vaccines can reduce official Corona death numbers, their introduction has coincided with slightly elevated all-cause mortality almost everywhere. The numbers might swing in their favour over the winter, but in the longer term, it is hard to see how mass vaccination won’t turn out to have been a huge mistake.

But here I didn’t intend to re-litigate the problem of the vaccines and their failure. I am more interested in exploring how poorly conducted vaccination campaigns will produce confounded statistics that wildly overstate how fantastic the vaccines are. Those places where the vaccines seem to be working rather less well than advertised, like the United Kingdom, seem to be places where vaccinators have worked harder to ensure uptake in the most at-risk cohorts. I’m sure the UK data are still confounded, but the German statistics, which present a rosier picture, are even less reliable. This is what happens when the oldest and the sickest accumulate disproportionately among the unvaccinated. This gives rise to a small, pernicious paradox: Vaccine efficacy would look worse, had the vaccinators done a better job; but because of their hidden failure, the vaccines look better than they are, thus confirming and deepening faith in vaccination.

eugyppius: The Hammer and the Dance: A Retrospective

The West never planned to lock down in the event of a pandemic. The preferred strategy was always supposed to be mitigation – that is to say, limited, regionally enacted closures and telecommuting recommendations to slow the rate of infection and spare hospitals some of the burden. So when the World Health Organisation declared the Hubei lockdown a success, and recommended the same approach to other countries, there was push-back. The United Kingdom had developed their own pandemic plans, on the basis of sophisticated models, which called for not doing very much. Johnson’s government announced they would insist on this strategy, and around the same time, Angela Merkel remarked that she expected 70% of Germans to be infected – a nod at the same basic approach.

The “science” had always been on the side of not locking down. This was a formidable problem for the early advocates of mass containment, and it is where Neil Ferguson and his Imperial College pandemic modelling team proved useful. They threw together a modelling study claiming that millions would die if Hubei-style lockdowns weren’t imposed, and Johnson’s government folded. In Germany, medical bureaucrats decided they wanted a lockdown too, but like many countries, we found ourselves in the awkward position of not having a native tradition of pandemic modelling to produce the made-to-order scientistic justifications. Nevertheless, our Interior Ministry threw together a team of medical bureaucrats and mid-level scientists to produce an anonymous pseudoscientific “strategy paper” that could be used behind the scenes to persuade politicians and journalists that lockdowns were the only way. The scientists responsible for this fraudulent paper purported to “model” what would happen in different scenarios. They christened their optimal scenario – the one with the harshest measures and the fewest deaths – the “Hammer and Dance.”

….

It’s unsurprising, looking back at Pueyo’s work today, to see that he was completely wrong about almost everything that matters. What is perhaps more bizarre, is the extent to which his zombie theses continue to dictate containment and also vaccination policy almost everywhere, despite their near-total falsification.

James Lyons-Weiler: If You Read One Thing on SARS-CoV-2 Vaccine Pathogenesis, Read This (Part 1)

All of this was predicted in April 2020. Here is the undeniable evidence that mass-exposure to the SARS-CoV-2 Spike protein is a very bad idea.

…Looking back at the list of proteins that we could see would likely become targets of our own immune system, so much pain & suffering could have been avoided. Given the tissue distribution of the self-antigens in particular, the analyses foretold of a future of clotting disorders, cardiovascular problems, issues with sperm production and female reproduction.

One of the very best summaries was published in a beautiful opus by Seneff and Nigh in the journal “International Journal of Vaccine Theory, Research and Practice” about a year after my initial predictions. That article, entitled “Worse Than the Disease? Reviewing Some Possible Unintended Consequences of the mRNA Vaccines Against COVID-19”, is as comprehensive a piece as you will find warning against the dangers of widespread exposure to the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein. … it is absolutely, an “If you read one thing.”

Here is the section on Pathogenic Priming, Multisystem Inflammatory Disease and Autoimmunity, from their article:

Pathogenic priming is a concept that is similar in outcome to ADE, but different in the underlying mechanism. We discuss it here as a unique mechanism through which the mRNA vaccines could provoke associated pathologies.

Denninger: Want 11% -> 25% Heart Attack Risk?

This was published in July of this year. It should have been the end of mass-vaccination attempts against Covid because it made clear that binding (infection-enhancing) antibodies were produced by the jabs in abundance and what’s worse the majority of the antibodies produced were worthless or harmful. In short the only reason you got protection was due to a wildly elevated titer in the first place, and once it waned, which it inevitably would, you were going to get ****ed. We also found a co-dominance of mAbs targeting the NTD and RBD of SARS-CoV-2 spike and an original antigenic-sin like backboost to spikes of seasonal human coronaviruses OC43 and HKU1 That’s even worse in that OC43 in particular is believed to have caused a Covid-19 like pandemic in the 1890s. Backboosting that virus, which circulates all the time in humans, is flat-out nuts because like Covid-19 the pandemic of the 1890s featured all manner of nasty death.

Since OC43 circulates in the population on a roughly four-year cycle anything that enhances that virus is begging to whack people in size — but not from Covid-19, rather from another virus that usually is nothing other than a nuisance! Well, now we’re seeing the consequences. UM (Ann Arbor) is reporting a wildly-virulent outbreak of “the worst flu ever” but the testing for Covid is coming back negative. They’re claiming its a strain of flu but that’s even worse because that strongly implies that the immune damage isn’t Covid-19 specific. [..] We had plenty of warning and should have stopped the jabs immediately in healthy people when that data became apparent because the very last thing you ever want to do is potentiate some other disease with your so-called “strategy.”

Berenson: Another major red flag about Covid vaccines and death

People appear to die at rates 20 percent or more above normal for weeks after receiving their second Covid vaccine dose, according to data from a huge Swedish study.

The figures are buried in a preprint paper on vaccine effectiveness released last month. The headline finding of the paper was that protection against Covid, including severe cases, plunged after six months.

The researchers did not explicitly examine deaths from all causes - which have risen since the summer in many countries that have highly vaccinated populations.

And all of these red flags come for vaccines that - if the Swedish data are correct - may actually raise the risk of Covid infection after about eight months.

Yes, RAISE. …

Kirsch: UK data shows the vaccines are NOT saving any lives at all. Zero. Zip. Nada.

Mathew Crawford just did an analysis showing that the data from the UK shows that the vaccines aren't saving any lives at all. Zero. Zip. Nada. So we're killing over 150K people to save no lives. Wow.

Mathew’s work really shouldn’t come as a surprise. It certainly wasn’t a surprise to me. Norman Fenton pointed out two months ago that the UK data shows that vaccinated people are dying at a greater rate than the unvaccinated (even after adjusting for age).

More recently, Fenton showed that with a simple time skew of deaths, we can make the vaccines look extremely effective even if they do absolutely nothing (paper and video). Fenton’s conclusion: we currently have no real evidence that the vaccines work.

So now we have two statisticians that I have very high respect for claiming the vaccines are, at best, not saving any lives.

Crawford: UK Data Shows No All-Cause Mortality Benefit for COVID-19 Vaccines

Let's be clear: Alex Berenson has done an excellent and courageous job during the pandemic. I follow his work and recommend that you do as well. He definitely digs into data better than most journalists, though we should not expect for him to do everything and be everything. He doesn't have to be perfect and you don't have to agree with every take to understand how important his work is. I am writing this before I analyze the data. However, I will note that my first instinct is to think that the [twice] Vaccinated cohort has an older age profile than the Unvaccinated cohort. Thus, we should expect to see greater all cause mortality in that group. This means what we are seeing is an illusion of data aggregation often called a Simpson's paradox, something I've written about several times before (here and here).

I spend so much time in class focusing on this kind of paradox and conditionality in probability and statistics for several reasons:

· I want for students to understand that problems aren't always straight-forward.

· Understanding these problems is the difference between an elite professional data geek and somebody with enough knowledge to be dangerous (which appears to be the substantial majority of the medical profession and all but the most elite epidemiologists during this pandemic).

Vax Has Slight But Waning Edge In Old But Harms The Young

Re:

Alas, there is an error here caused by lumping all the data together. We’ll see below that the death rate for unvaxxed is higher than for the two-shot (“fully”) vaxxed—in all but the young, where the rates reverse. This is both modest and horrible news. Again, let’s see why. …

Prof. Dr. Rolf Steyer and Dr. Gregor Kappler: The higher the vaccination rate, the higher the excess mortality

An ethical analysis of vaccinating children against COVID-19: benefits, risks, and issues of global health equity
From the Abstract: “[W]e argue that it is currently unclear whether routine COVID-19 vaccination of healthy children is ethically justified in most contexts, given the minimal direct benefit that COVID-19 vaccination provides to children, the potential for rare risks to outweigh these benefits and undermine vaccine confidence, and substantial evidence that COVID-19 vaccination confers adequate protection to risk groups, such as older adults, without the need to vaccinate children. We conclude that child COVID-19 vaccination in wealthy communities before adults in poor communities worldwide is ethically unacceptable and consider how policy deliberations might evolve in light of future developments.”

KirschWe are killing our kids. Does anyone care?

Kids that would have never died from COVID are now dying after getting the vaccine. Will it ever end?

That’s hardly an isolated incident. These deaths simply are never ever going to reported in the NY Times or on CNN. So you’re never going to hear about them except from alternate media sources like this

It’s like mandating that your kids play Russian Roulette and if they survive, there is virtually no benefit since they weren’t going to die anyway.

2,620 Dead Babies in VAERS after COVID Shots – More Fetal Deaths in 11 Months than Past 30 Years Following All Vaccines as Scotland Begins Investigation

Kirsch: Why aren't healthcare workers speaking out about the catastrophe caused by the vaccines?

Everyone thinks that if the jabs were really dangerous, doctors and other healthcare workers would be speaking out about it. They are wrong. Here are the four main nine reasons they do not speak out.

AS an NHS hospital doctor, I have had a front-row seat as the drama of the coronavirus pandemic has unfolded. It has been a year and a half of confusion, frustration and anger for me as I’ve watched our profession drawn into complicity with what I anticipate will be regarded as one of the most egregious public health disasters in history.
...
What has been most upsetting for me has been the unquestioning compliance from the medical community as increasingly draconian, non-evidence-based and destructive virus control measures have been implemented. Some of the overt corruption, financial conflict of interests and politicisation has been laid bare in editorials in prominent medical journals such as the BMJ. But the vast majority of doctors have had no interest in asking questions or looking further.
...
My concern over our professional passivity turned to alarm as our compliance required us to support the roll-out of an experimental vaccine to a trusting population.
Contrary to the basic tenets of evidence-based medicine, pronouncing an experimental medical intervention ‘safe and effective’ now does not seem to require any peer-reviewed evidence of safety or clinically meaningful efficacy. The vaccines have not been shown in clinical trials to reduce transmission, hospitalisation or death. The phase 3 trials are not over and the safety data is not complete; the earliest trials will run into 2023.
The consent form for the Covid-19 vaccine does not disclose its status as an unlicensed experimental product. The risks remain largely unknown, although it is becoming clear that the vaccine has resulted in death or injury in a rising number of healthy people. A growing number of vaccine-induced syndromes are being recognised, including immune thrombotic thrombocytopaenia, myocarditis and menstrual irregularities, among many others being published in the literature. At the time of writing, there have been more than 380,000 reports, 1.2million injuries and 1,700 fatalities submitted under the MHRA Yellow Card scheme.
...
Even on the occasion when my counter-narrative evidence cannot be denied by a colleague, the usual response is: ‘It’s coming from the government; our hands are tied.’ But the truth is that most of the time doctors don’t want to see the evidence; their subconscious has prevented them seeing that the parent-like authorities of government, Sage and the MHRA, upon which we project a childlike trust, might be misguided, corrupted or dishonest.

Toby Rogers: Extraordinary new chart from the warrior mamas at OpenVAERS

Vaccine injury is everywhere. The federal government collects reports of vaccine injury through the Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System (VAERS). The system is intentionally clunky and difficult to navigate.

So some warrior mamas created OpenVAERS that takes all of the federal reports and makes them easily searchable. Pharma and the bougie mainstream are terrified of OpenVAERS because by making the reports easily searchable it wakes lots of people up to the catastrophic harms from vaccines.

Nearly every independent scholar who has studied VAERS agrees that it is a significant undercount of actual vaccine harms.

Former FDA Director David Kessler in an article in the Journal of the American Medical Association stated that “only about 1% of serious events are reported to the FDA.” A report for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services by Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare Inc. confirmed that VAERS undercounts actual vaccine injuries by a factor of 100.

More recently several scholars have attempted to refine these initial estimates.

Kirsch, Rose, and Crawford estimate that VAERS undercounts fatal vaccine reactions by a factor of 41.

Dr. Jessica Rose, a statistician in Israel, recently calculated an under-reporting factor of 31 for all severe adverse events following vaccination.

*** Rogers: Janet Woodcock's decision to unilaterally push through "boosters for all American adults" last week violated standard FDA protocols that call for review by the VRBPAC

Lacking proper data to justify their decision, the FDA just skipped expert review altogether

I’m wondering if the reason the FDA skipped the VRBPAC meeting this time is because they did not want to have to produce another risk-benefit analysis — given that the data showed no clinically significant benefit in preventing severe health outcomes?

My how the “Because Science™️” crowd has fallen!

Schachtel: The war on the ‘unvaccinated’ is a desperate attempt to demonize and destroy the control group

The ruling class is very worried about non-compliant citizens.

Why I've Decided to Not Get the Booster

And as it turns out, the boosters work…at least in the short-term studies available.

But that’s the same thing that happened in the Spring when vaccines were working miracles and nobody was spreading and dying.

Eventually, the immunity decreased to the point where it made less and less of a difference.

You should know that I’m not particularly worried about getting the booster. I have no allergies or any history of autoimmune reactions. I got both jabs with zero side effects except for a sore arm.

If I get the booster, I can be “safe” for another 6-9 months.

And this is the reason why I’m not getting the booster.

I don’t care about the incremental protection over baseline risk that I would receive from a booster, because it would not change anything in this crazy “public health” system we have.

If I get the booster, I am just encouraging more lockdowns, shutdowns, masks, and mandates. I’m legitimizing Covid-19 Tyranny.

And this is where I draw the line.

I’m being honest when I say that I believe the booster is a net positive in terms of my risk of dying from Covid-19, but I also need to consider this within the greater context of societal harm that is being done by measures taken against this virus.

If we agree to the boosters, we agree to continue to live in this charade of a reality that is being imposed upon us where all that matters are new cases.

Evidence for Community Cloth Face Masking to Limit the Spread of SARS‐CoV‑2: A Critical Review

Until April 2020, World Health Organization COVID-19 guidelines stated that “[c]loth (e.g. cotton or gauze) masks are not recommended under any circumstance”, which were updated in June 2020 to state that “the widespread use of masks by healthy people in the community setting is not yet supported by high quality or direct scientific evidence”. In the surgical theatre context, a Cochrane review found “no statistically significant difference in infection rates between the masked and unmasked group in any of the trials”. Another Cochrane review, of influenza-like-illness, found “low certainty evidence from nine trials (3,507 participants) that wearing a mask may make little or no difference to the outcome of influenza-like illness (ILI) compared to not wearing a mask (risk ratio 0.99, CI 0.82 to 1.18).”

[A] much larger (7,687 participants) randomised controlled follow-up study by the same research group not only failed to show a statistically significant benefit for mask wearing, but the per-protocol analysis showed higher point estimates for mask wearers compared to non-mask wearers for both clinical respiratory infections (12% (97/828) vs. 9% (141/1497); odds ratio [OR]: 1.3) and laboratory-confirmed respiratory infections (50% (46/93) vs. 41% (50/122); OR: 1.2).

Multiple household studies have found higher instances of respiratory sickness in masked intervention groups than in unmasked controls.

….

“More than a century after the 1918 influenza pandemic, examination of the efficacy of masks has produced a large volume of mostly low- to moderate-quality evidence that has largely failed to demonstrate their value in most settings.”

Johnstone:

It’s not that vaccine mandates are never justifiable under any circumstances; a sufficiently deadly virus with a sufficiently excellent vaccine could make a solid case that such intrusive measures are necessary. It’s that this particular virus and these particular vaccines don’t make such a case. If you’re going to implement such intrusive, authoritarian measures, you’d better have a very strong argument for doing so. In my opinion, and in the opinion of many others, that argument simply has not been made.

This doesn’t make me an anti-vaxxer, or even someone who’s necessarily opposed to the idea of all vaccine mandates under all circumstances. It just means in this specific instance it’s pretty clear that governments are wildly overstepping in ways that will lead to further abuses. Universal availability of vaccines is justified, widespread public education is justified, regaining the public’s trust after decades of lies and abuse is certainly justified, but force and coercion is not.

Everyone has a line at which they believe government mandates would be excessive. Prior to Covid flu-related illnesses were already killing up to 650,000 people a year, but you never heard anyone calling for governments to coerce entire populations into taking flu vaccines. This is not to compare Covid to the flu, it’s to point out that people didn’t believe that level of intrusiveness was justified for dealing with the flu. Others don’t believe it’s justified for the numbers we’re seeing with Covid and with the protections the vaccines provide either.

I always get people explaining the rudimentary basic arguments for vaccines and mandates to me like I must never have heard them or don’t understand them. I understand the logic, I just object to their use under this specific instance. This isn’t actually that complicated.

It’s possible to imagine a situation where the arguments being made for mandates today are actually true: that your refusal threatens people and you have no right to do that to them. Those arguments just don’t hold water in this instance. I am at my heart a collectivist first and foremost; I don’t believe the individual comes before the collective. Mandates could one day conceivably be needed to protect the interests of the collective. But these specific mandates hurt both individual rights and the collective.

In response to my FOIA request for the data relied upon for the Pfizer vaccine approval, the FDA indicated in would release it all... by the year 2076 (yes, you read that right).

Along with 30 other academic physicians and scientists I submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the FDA for the Pfizer vaccine data. This week, in response, the FDA claimed that it will take them 55 years to release this data, though it only took them 108 days to review this same data for the vaccine approval process. Here’s the full story, along with the initial commentary in the press on the FDA’s absurd response.

...

In September I organized 30 distinguished academic physicians and scientist colleagues to form Public Health and Medical Professionals for Transparency. This group included, among other luminaries, my friends Harvey Risch of Yale, Andrew Bostom of Brown, Joseph Ladapo of UCLA (who has since been appointed Surgeon General of Florida), Paul Alexander, formerly of HHS and WHO, Aditi Bhargava of UCSF, and other scientists from the U.S., Canada, Denmark, Australia, Germany, and the University of Oxford in the U.K. With the help of my lawyers, Aaron Siri and Elizabeth Brehm, we submitted a FOIA request to the FDA for all the data relied upon to authorize Pfizer’s Covid vaccine. While this information was not available while the vaccine was only approved under Emergency Use Authorization (EUA), under federal law, the FDA was required to make this data publicly available once it received full approval, which happened in August.

The law is crystal clear on this point: our FOIA request was not at all legally complicated, and the FDA’s lawyers at the Department of Justice are well aware of this.

Siri: FDA Asks Federal Judge to Grant it Until the Year 2076 to Fully Release Pfizer’s COVID-19 Vaccine Data

The FDA has asked a federal judge to make the public wait until the year 2076 to disclose all of the data and information it relied upon to license Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine. That is not a typo. It wants 55 years to produce this information to the public.

As explained in a prior article, the FDA repeatedly promised “full transparency” with regard to Covid-19 vaccines, including reaffirming “the FDA’s commitment to transparency” when licensing Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine.

With that promise in mind, in August and immediately following approval of the vaccine, more than 30 academics, professors, and scientists from this country’s most prestigious universities requested the data and information submitted to the FDA by Pfizer to license its COVID-19 vaccine.

The FDA’s response? It produced nothing. So, in September, my firm filed a lawsuit against the FDA on behalf of this group to demand this information. To date, almost three months after it licensed Pfizer’s vaccine, the FDA still has not released a single page. Not one.

Instead, two days ago, the FDA asked a federal judge to give it until 2076 to fully produce this information. The FDA asked the judge to let it produce the 329,000+ pages of documents Pfizer provided to the FDA to license its vaccine at the rate of 500 pages per month, which means its production would not be completed earlier than 2076. The FDA’s promise of transparency is, to put it mildly, a pile of illusions.

It took the FDA precisely 108 days from when Pfizer started producing the records for licensure (on May 7, 2021) to when the FDA licensed the Pfizer vaccine (on August 23, 2021). Taking the FDA at its word, it conducted an intense, robust, thorough, and complete review and analysis of those documents in order to assure that the Pfizer vaccine was safe and effective for licensure. While it can conduct that intense review of Pfizer’s documents in 108 days, it now asks for over 20,000 days to make these documents available to the public.

So, let’s get this straight. The federal government shields Pfizer from liability. Gives it billions of dollars. Makes Americans take its product. But won’t let you see the data supporting its product’s safety and efficacy. Who does the government work for?

“The first thing that you have to understand is [that your employer is] going to ask you to submit your medical records indicating whether or not you’ve received the vaccination,” Coles explained in her address. “You’re under no obligation to provide that, that is personal medical documentation and records that you are not to show anybody except your own personal doctor, should you choose.”

So here’s a summary of some options if you are faced with illegal termination due to non-disclosure of medical data to your employer.

....

#5: Inform your employer that your compliance will not be voluntary

Mandates negate voluntary participation. You will have to make it difficult at every step, for everyone involved, in the subsequent process. Make it fun! Be cheeky and playful. But use the law.

COVID Conspiracy Fare:

COVID-19 and 'Conspiracy Theory': Who Decides What's 'Misinformation'?

The media dismisses any questioning of the lockdown measures as "conspiracy theory," but we are the final judge of how the authorities managed the COVID-19 response.

During this time of COVID-19, the term "conspiracy theory" has been bandied about too casually by mainstream media sources. We indeed live in an "age of misinformation," a time when it is legitimately hard to tell what exactly is true and what is not. But during this time, how do we make sense of the non-stop flood of contradictory COVID-19 information? And what do we make of alleged COVID-19 conspiracies?

Seldom do the media acknowledge that "conspiracy theory" can become weaponized, the charge becoming a means to stifle free inquiry into a topic. Who decides between valid information versus misinformation? And who decides what distinguishes a conspiracy theory from real political or financial agenda?

The mainstream media, often acting in concert with business or government, have decided it is their responsibility to be the official purveyors of news, the anointed ones to tell you what is authoritative versus what is not; and they have decided to tell you what stories constitute conspiracy theories.

Caylan Ford: Like COVID-19, digital passports could be with us forever

Once we go down this road, we may ruefully discover that there is no off-ramp

When a government radically alters the way we live and relate to one another, it should be able to explain, at a minimum, why it is doing so. And when their plans involve extraordinary new powers to surveil, coerce, and control the population, we might also hope for an account of how and when those powers will be rescinded, and what limiting principle will constrain their use.

Proponents of digital health passports have failed to clear even the most basic of these hurdles. Instead, they have offered conflicting, unrealistic, and sometimes incoherent explanations of what the new digital passport regime is meant to achieve.

For those who have received the jabs, they may feel this does not affect them. They could not be more wrong. A “health pass” will no longer grant one entry – as soon as the next injection is dictated (by the pharmaceutical industry), or whatever other requirement “to keep us safe” comes along. Until one acquiesces with the new measure (booster or what have you), this person too will be cast out of society – grouped (and shunned) with the “unvaxxed”.

*** CJ Hopkins: Pathologized Totalitarianism 101

… I do not believe this plan will succeed. In spite of the longest and most intensive propaganda campaign in the history of propaganda, there remain enough of us who steadfastly refuse to accept the “New Normal” as our new reality.

And a lot of us are angry, extremely angry … militantly, explosively angry.

We are not “vaccine hesitant” or “anti-vax” or “Covid-denying conspiracy theorists.” We are millions of regular working-class people, people with principles, who value freedom, who are not prepared to go gently into the globalized, pathologized-totalitarian night. We no longer give the slightest shit whether our former friends and family members who have gone New Normal understand what this is. We do. We understand exactly what this is. It is a nascent form of totalitarianism, and we intend to kill it — or at least critically wound it — before it matures into a full-grown behemoth….

I have been describing the New Normal as “pathologized totalitarianism” and predicting that compulsory “vaccination” was coming since at least as early as May 2020. (See, e.g., The New Pathologized Totalitarianism). I use the term “totalitarianism” intentionally, not for effect, but for the sake of accuracy. The New Normal is still a nascent totalitarianism, but its essence is unmistakably evident.

We need to come to terms with this fact. We do. Not the New Normals. Us.

GloboCap is on the verge of remaking society into a smiley-happy pathologized-totalitarian dystopia where they can mandate experimental genetic “therapies,” and any other type of “therapies” they want, and force us to show our “compliance papers” to go about the most basic aspects of life. This remaking of society is violent. It is being carried out by force, with violence and the ever-present threat of violence. We need to face that, and act accordingly.

el gato malo: "let's use the army to put innocent people in camps!" said no non-horrific government. ever.

It doesn’t matter what your viewpoint is with regards to injections or COVID-19. YOU CANNOT FORCEFULLY INJECT HUMAN BEINGS. THIS VIOLATES THE NUREMBERG CODE IN SPADES.

Tessa Lena: Australia

Can you hear the alarm? The New Abnormal is kind of disgusting.

….

People sent to “isolation camps,” using the Army, based on the fact that somehow has been determined that they had been in contact with “COVID cases”? The absolute absurdity of this situation belongs in the theater, not in real life. It is known that the tests are 100% meaningless, with a false positive rate of over 90% and actually other flaws as well. Naming a case based on a positive test is a crime against science, logic—and most importantly, innocent people. So, this scenario is like being sent to a camp, while being a regular healthy person, because the authorities said so. And isolation camps, based on reports, are very much prison-like.

So, in theory, or in practice, you could be compliant, take the product, live a standard life, have a successful career, and then one day the authorities can still take you away from your home by force and send you to a camp by declaring that you are dangerous to society? Do you understand what it means? How is this different from what they end up writing about in history books as periods of totalitarian darkness?

I want to say, “I stand with Australia,” but what does it mean? Can we please all agree that this is not normal? Can we please agree that there is no longer “theory” in the “conspiracy theory,” and that if the governments always “err” on the side of taking the freedoms away and protecting their corporate owners—at the expense of basic human dignity—then maybe this is just a very ordinary conspiracy, and law and order are being dismantled?

Barry Brownstein: Why There is a Civic and Moral Duty to Oppose Tyrannical Bureaucracies

A society that embraces coerced medical choices has chosen a path away from social cooperation and towards the disintegration of society.

Lesson 1: Oppose bureaucrats with vigor but avoid name-calling. …

Lesson 2: Encourage others to broaden their reading and listening beyond the orthodoxy. …

Lesson 3: Oppose all censorship …

Lesson 4: Oppose rule by elites …

Lesson 5: We have a moral duty to see the humanity in others …

… In his seminal work, Human Action, Mises wrote, “A man who chooses between drinking a glass of milk and a glass of a solution of potassium cyanide does not choose between two beverages; he chooses between life and death. A society that chooses between capitalism and socialism does not choose between two social systems; it chooses between social cooperation and the disintegration of society.”

In the spirit of Mises, I offer this: A society that embraces coerced medical choices has chosen a path away from social cooperation and towards the disintegration of society.

Margaret Anna Alice: Letter to a Tyrant

….. This letter isn’t to beg or plead or ask you to stop. This letter is to put you on notice. This letter is to tell you the people are waking, and it is you who have shaken us awake. You have sown the seeds of your own obliteration, and those seeds are germinating.

None of your efforts to enshroud the sun, contaminate the soil, befoul the water, defile the oceans, toxify the air, autodarwinate seeds, sequester the food supply, extinguish species, or commodify the ecosystem can stop those seeds from bursting through the earth and winding their tendrils around your Nuremberged neck.

In a way, we should thank you. You have shown your hand so recklessly because you were certain we would roll over. So confident were you in the psychological conditioning you subjected us to—following Biderman’s Chart of Coercion like a recipe—you expected us to jump in the pot voluntarily.

You were half-right, sadly. But the fence-sitters are now witnessing the nuclear fallout from your detonation of The Great Democide, and they can no longer deny the torrent of reality acid-raining down upon us.

Foolishly forgetting to administer the elite’s faux injections to the most visible tier instead of the commoners’ poison death shot was a clumsy fumble that’s too obvious to miss. You remembered a few celebrities like this one and this one but forgot the athletes, and now they’re collapsing in a pile on the field.

And your victims, the ones you maimed, the ones you sterilized, the ones you failed to fell immediately, the ones whose loved ones you slayed, are speaking out about their suffering.1

And now you’re coming for the children. Even the wokety-woke NPC Covidians aren’t buying it anymore:…

And then you have an FDA shill making this reprehensible statement about the decision to inject children aged 5–11, “We’re never gonna learn about how safe this vaccine is until you start giving it.”

Well, we don’t have to wait to find out. A twelve-year-old child just died two days after receiving the Pfizer injection, and the autopsy proves it. And these fourteen children died of such conditions as pulmonary embolism, intracranial hemorrhage, cardiac arrest, and myocarditis post-injection—only to be swept under the rug by BigPharma toady CDC. And deaths of male children have jumped 86 percent in the UK since the vaxx rollout. It is estimated that nearly 800 children have been killed from the injection thus far, and you and your colluders are only ramping up the pedicide program.

You are commanding that children—whose immune systems are at their most robust and who face virtually zero risk of dying from COVID—put their lives and long-term health at risk by undergoing an experimental injection lacking long-term clinical trials and with substantially greater evidence of harm than good.

According to this risk-benefit analysis, you will “kill 117 kids to save one kid.” And the proposition that this injection will save a single child is extraordinarily generous considering the nonexistent threat COVID poses to children and the availability of highly efficacious early treatment protocols and historically safe drugs such as ivermectin.

John Pilger: The Great Game of Smashing Nations

“I confess that [countries] are pieces on a chessboard,” said Lord Curzon in 1898, “upon which is being played out a great game for the domination of the world.”

The viceroy of India was referring in particular to Afghanistan. A century later, Prime Minister Tony Blair used slightly different words.

“This is a moment to seize,” he said following 9/11. “The Kaleidoscope has been shaken. The pieces are in flux. Soon they will settle again. Before they do, let us re-order this world around us.”

Suzie Dawson: Nearly everyone understands how dire the world situation is & how dark the future is but far fewer connect those realities to an extremely advanced underlying system of control that exists to ensure that no one - individual, organisation or population - can diverge from this path

What I am telling you is that we are living in the net effect of that system having control. Some will tell you that system is capitalism, others will say it is technocratic, or geocentric, or just a moral deficiency, the nature of humankind, but it's not - its an architecture

An architecture that was designed, consciously constructed, built, tested and honed, refined, in this case across generations and at the largest imaginable scale. I'd say global, but now that system's aspirations & view have expanded even beyond the limitations of this planet.

Meaning, the establishment & subsequent entrenchment of the system of control was a deliberate act. It was not just the unfolding product of human existence. It was literally a plan. And that plan, that system, is what keeps us tied to a destructive and frankly suicidal future.

Studying & documenting the intricacies of the practices of that control system, the advancement of its technology, the processes by which it operates, the methods by which it selects & neutralises targets, is a step towards consciousness but more than education we need action

And action is, more than anything else, what the system is calibrated to prevent. Educating yourself will put you on a list, taking action will put you on a bigger list - encouraging others to take action with you, will put your name at the top of the list. This is the reality.

Being at the top of the list means being targeted in three phases: first your reputation, second your relationships and third, your body. Those of us who know this & still continue to throw ourselves upon the gears of the system create space for others under us to take action.

How systems break down is:

* from overwhelm (en masse action)

* from failure to scale fast enough

* from internal system sabotage

* from breaches

That's why activists, journalists & whistleblowers were top of the target list, but really the system sees every human as a threat

(some) Humans have the capacity to be unpredictable, novel, innovative & to take actions for which the system has to adapt in order to combat.

That is a threat to a system which wants to shove us all into boxes & apply the same methods of suppression to us. Innovation = threat

In the absence of people of conscience within the system being willing to combat it from the inside, then for those of us outside it, combining mass action and innovation is the best chance I see forward

If you sit transfixed by each bad news item, dismayed at the extent of the damage being inflicted on this planet, if you are feeling defeated - if you simply tut-tut or throw your hands up at each apocalyptic development - you are hastening its progression.

Act. Act. ACT!

Nobody Who Says “You Can Criticize Washington AND Beijing” Actually Does

The US empire has killed millions and displaced tens of millions in its still-ongoing global “war on terror” since 9/11. It is circling the planet with hundreds of military bases, its sanctions and blockades are starving people to death en masse every single day, and it actively works to destroy any nation whose government disobeys its commands.

Nothing China is doing rises anywhere near this level of evil, either within its own borders or on the world stage. This is evident even if you believe every single claim the western empire has been asserting about the Chinese government’s behavior (which would of course be a very silly thing to do). The only way to make China look remotely comparable to modern US murderousness is to dredge up events which happened decades in the past or speculate about things China might possibly do in the future, none of which is relevant to discussions about what’s happening in real life as it actually presently exists.

These two power structures are not equally worthy of criticism. They are not even comparable. The US and its tight network of allies are indisputably far, far more worthy of criticism than the government of China. But in the western world this reality is not reflected in the criticisms that are voiced; in fact it’s as ass backwards as you could possibly get it. China is criticized far more, and US imperialism is criticized far less.

The US Has As Much Moral Authority As Saudi Arabia On The Legitimacy Of Elections

This level of intrusiveness into Venezuela’s heavily internationally monitored democratic process is typical of what we’ve been seeing from the US political/media class with regard to electoral contests in empire-targeted Latin American nations like Bolivia and Nicaragua. Which is really silly, because the US has no more moral authority over the legitimacy of democratic processes than a totalitarian monarchy like Saudi Arabia.

The news media have given more coverage to a missing Chinese tennis player who's not actually missing than to NATO's talk of deploying nukes in Eastern Europe.

US elections are of course corrupt and fraudulent, entirely dominated at the federal level by legalized oligarchic bribery in the form of campaign contributions, manipulated primaries, gerrymandering, voter suppression, shutting out third parties, and the worst voting system in the western world.

More than this, though, the United States is also the world’s single most egregious offender when it comes to interfering in foreign elections.

***** Erm I Know You’re Busy But Nuclear War Is Getting Increasingly Likely

Meanwhile the US is considering sending more weapons to Ukraine as tensions mount between Moscow and Kiev, and Vladimir Putin is warning that western powers are ignoring Russia’s red lines which are meant to serve as a deterrent to prevent escalation into full-blown nuclear war. The cold war against China has been continually ramping up as well and appears likely to continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

Half of Americans would now reportedly favor going to war against Russia in defense of Ukraine and a majority would now favor going to war with China in defense of Taiwan. These drastic spikes in opinion are not an accident; the consent has been forcefully manufactured by an aggressive propaganda campaign against those two nations. They are not manufacturing that consent for fun; they are doing it for a reason.

I write about this issue a lot because to me it seems obvious that when you really look at the facts of the matter it’s the most worrying thing of all worrying things in this world. It is entirely possible that climate chaos causing heat spikes and flash freezes which destroy plant life could be the thing which sends us the way of the dinosaur, or it could be the reckless development of weaponized artificial intelligence, but those fates are a bit further down the track. There’s only one threat facing us which could technically wipe us all out tomorrow, and it’s the rapidly increasing likelihood of boring old nuclear holocaust.

It is not an accident that a majority of Americans now support going to war with nuclear-armed nations over Taiwan and Ukraine. That consent has been deliberately manufactured, and continues to be further manufactured. They're not manufacturing that consent for shits and giggles.

Healthy people want power to be proportionate to responsibility; the more your actions affect others, the more accountable you must be. Unhealthy people want power without responsibility; they want maximum power but want all culpability offloaded onto the collective. We are ruled by very unhealthy people.

Racism is a real problem that must be made conscious AND ALSO the issue is often manipulated to protect the status quo. Climate change is real AND ALSO manipulative plutocrats are looking to benefit from it. Covid is dangerous AND ALSO it's being used to advance unjust agendas.

Because our brains are wired to reject any information which could threaten our worldview, it provides more cognitive ease to simply dismiss every part of any idea that might conflict with your position. But doing so distorts our perspective.

Menton: Can A Progressive Be Convinced By Facts?

The Kyle Rittenhouse trial has given us an unusual opportunity to contrast uncontestable facts as shown on many video recordings with an endlessly repeated media narrative that seems to exist in an alternate reality. To my amazement, even after two full weeks of livestreamed trial, most notably featuring videos taken on the night at issue and a witness testifying that he had pointed a gun in Rittenhouse’s face, many on the left cling to the prior narrative of the case as though it contains a greater truth about our justice system and racism in this country and therefore cannot be disputed by facts.

Could they just not have been paying attention? Or alternatively, do they have such a strong sense of emotional conviction that no amount of evidence, rationality, or logic can persuade them that Kyle Rittenhouse deserved the presumption of innocence and a fair trial?

Bari Weiss: The Media's Verdict on Kyle Rittenhouse

Why so many got this story so wrong.

Here is what I thought was true about Kyle Rittenhouse during the last days of August 2020 based on mainstream media accounts: The 17-year-old was a racist vigilante. I thought he drove across state lines, to Kenosha, Wisc., with an illegally acquired semi-automatic rifle to a town to which he had no connection. I thought he went there because he knew there were Black Lives Matter protests and he wanted to start a fight. And I thought that by the end of the evening of August 25, 2020, he had done just that, killing two peaceful protestors and injuring a third.

It turns out that account was mostly wrong.

Unless you’re a regular reader of independent reporting — Jacob Siegel of Tablet Magazine and Jesse Singal stand out for being ahead of the pack (and pilloried, like clockwork, for not going along with the herd) — you would have been served a pack of lies about what happened during those terrible days in Kenosha. And you would have been shocked over the past two weeks as the trial unfolded in Wisconsin as every core claim was undermined by the evidence of what actually happened that night.

This wasn’t a disinformation campaign waged by Reddit trolls or anonymous Twitter accounts. It was one pushed by the mainstream media and sitting members of Congress for the sake of an expedient political narrative…

Can we talk about critical race theory for a minute?

First off, there is no left in the United States. I come from the left, this is my tribe (or it was), I know the terrain here. Republicans going off on Marxism today crack me up because the left gave up on Marxism in 1968 when the tanks crushed the Prague Spring. Then for a brief period in the 1970s the left pivoted to a human rights framework. And then toward the end of the 1970s the left felt in love with Foucault and postmodernism. Today the left is this weird combination of postmodern cultural theory + Pharma fascism. But there is nothing particularly “left” about that, it’s just odd and incredibly self-destructive.

Critical theories of all kinds are just a method for seeing the world and analyzing formal and social structures that cause suffering and limit human flourishing. This is what the left, when they are on their game, actually does best. This is what the left should be doing, but does not do anymore because they are so busy worshipping Pfizer.

So here’s what’s actually happening right now. Republican operatives were looking for a bogeyman that they could use to rally the base this year. They landed on critical race theory and launched a campaign to oppose it. At the time the left had no idea what critical race theory was, having abandoned such theories decades before in order to worship Pharma, solicit billionaires, and play god at Davos and in their local public health department.

But nearly all Democrats are afflicted with Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS). So when they saw that Republicans opposed critical race theory they decided that critical race theory must be pretty great so they went out and learned about it for the first time. Literally CA Dems had no idea what CRT was (too busy banning single use shampoo bottles in hotels and setting up Pharma fascism) until this year. Now they are mandating it in the public school curriculum. So Republicans lured Dems into a trap, Dems took the bait (because of TDS) and now we have two sides that have never actually read any critical race theory (or any other critical theory for that matter) warring over this idea that neither side really understands.
